Today I want to talk to you about Root Cause Therapy, what it is, what it does and how it can help you, as it helped me!
I first discovered Root Cause Therapy (or RCT) when I was diagnosed with some serious health issues a few years back. At the time, I had recently been through a divorce, a failed business venture and a major relocation. On top of that, I also felt that I was repeating bad patterns in my life or not learning from them, but could not put my finger on why I was doing the same things and how to change it.
By accident I discovered RCT, which finally helped me to release certain limiting beliefs and patterns that were holding me back. I was so sold on RCT and the results that it delivers, that I decided to become a Root Cause Practitioner myself to help other people experience the same benefits as I had.
So, what is Root Cause Therapy?
RCT is an alternative to traditional therapies, and aims to get to the root cause of certain issues affecting someone’s life quickly. For example, issues with mental wellbeing, negative habits, anxiety, PTSD or even addictions. It can also help people in their personal development, for example with certain blocks around money, relationships, weight etc.
How does it work and how can it help you?
Our conscious mind makes up only 10% of our overall consciousness and our unconscious mind makes up 90%, this is where all our memories, emotions, thought patterns and so on are stored.
Whatever is affecting you now is usually being triggered by certain things that happened to you in the past, like trauma for example, usually in childhood. These memories are stored in your unconscious mind which is not accessible in the usual ways you would access your conscious mind.
To make you feel more peaceful and have a better future, you need to make better decisions and for that you need to heal your past!
In the Root Cause Therapy session, I use certain painless and easy methods to quickly identify your limiting beliefs and the past incidences that are causing you issues today. Thereafter we list and discuss what they are, before focusing on releasing and healing them, so that they are not affecting you anymore. You will usually see quick results and within the course of a few sessions. You can then start working on improving your future!
I usually embed the RCT sessions in an overall wellbeing program that will help you make changes and build a life without your past holding you back. It will support and help you in making better choices particularly in the areas you have been struggling in.
